Download TikTok photo slideshows online
TikTok photo posts (indicated by /photo/ in their permalink) allow creators to publish multi-slide swipe carousels containing up to 35 high-resolution still images accompanied by a background audio track. When you paste a photo link, SMDownloader parses the entire image gallery array. Instead of capturing a lossy screen recording or low-bitrate video render, you receive each full-resolution JPEG or WebP photograph individually.
How to download TikTok slideshow photos
- 1. Copy the /photo/ link — Navigate to the photo slideshow in TikTok, tap Share → Copy link, and verify the URL contains /photo/ in the path.
- 2. Paste URL into SMDownloader — Enter the link in the download box above and click Download to parse all carousel images on our servers.
- 3. Save individual photographs — Browse the loaded image gallery in your browser and click Save on each photo to store it in full resolution.
Why use SMDownloader
- Up to 35 slides extracted. Parses the complete image array from /photo/ posts, exposing every slide in sequential viewing order.
- Uncompressed source stills. Extracts original JPEG and WebP photographs directly from ByteDance asset servers without video compression.
- Individual slide selection. Preview every slide thumbnail independently so you can selectively download only the photos you want.

Photo posts use /photo/ in the URL — not /video/. A profile URL alone will not list carousel images.
Slideshow posts may also include a video render on TikTok's side. SMDownloader prioritizes the individual images in the carousel. For a single video file, use the TikTok Video Downloader with the same link.
Where files save
After you confirm a save, the file goes to your browser's default download location — usually Downloads on desktop or your photo gallery on mobile. SMDownloader does not host or email files.
Limits
What links will not work
- Bypass private accounts, close-friends stories, or login-only posts.
- Bulk-scrape entire profiles, hashtags, or channels automatically.
- Promise universal no-watermark, 4K, or DRM-free output when the source does not expose it.
Common questions
How do TikTok photo posts differ from regular video posts?
Photo posts use the URL path tiktok.com/@username/photo/ID and contain swipeable still images rather than an MP4 video file. SMDownloader recognizes this format and extracts the raw photos.
Can I download all slideshow photos in full resolution?
Yes. SMDownloader extracts the highest resolution JPEG or WebP files that TikTok serves for each slide, bypassing the downscaled video preview.
How many images can a single TikTok slideshow contain?
TikTok permits users to upload up to 35 photos in a single carousel post. Our parser enumerates every available slide in the post metadata.
Does the download include the background music from the slideshow?
This tool focuses on extracting the photographic stills. If you also want the background soundtrack, copy the same link into the TikTok MP3 Downloader.
Why did my photo slideshow link return a single video instead?
Some creators export slideshows as rendered MP4 videos before uploading. If the URL contains /video/ instead of /photo/, TikTok treats it as a single video clip.
Do mobile vm.tiktok.com shortlinks work for photo posts?
Yes. SMDownloader traces shortlinks to their destination. If the redirect lands on a /photo/ permalink, the gallery parser activates automatically.
