Which TikTok downloader do I need?
One tool per format — pick the one that matches your link.
- Video — A regular tiktok.com/@user/video/… clip, with sound.
- Audio only — You only want the sound from a TikTok, not the video.
- Story — A TikTok Story link — these disappear after 24 hours.
- Photo slideshow — A tiktok.com/@user/photo/… post, not a video.
- Highlights — A pinned profile highlight or destacada clip from a creator showcase.

What to expect
Profile URLs work too — paste a public tiktok.com/@username link to preview and save its most recent public videos, or paste a direct video or photo-post link for one specific item. Age-gated, region-blocked, or deleted clips fail like they would in a browser.
Media types we handle on TikTok: Videos, Photo posts, MP3.

What links will not work

Common questions
Do vm.tiktok.com short links work?
Yes. Paste the link exactly as copied from the share sheet — SMDownloader expands vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com URLs to the full tiktok.com post before download.
How do I copy link TikTok on my phone?
Open the public clip, tap Share → Copy link, then paste here. Our mobile guide walks through iPhone and Android — vm.tiktok.com short links are fine.
Where is the TikTok story downloader?
Use the Story downloader on this page for active story share links. Stories only work while they are still live — expired links stop resolving after 24 hours.
Can I download TikTok audio as MP3?
Yes, for public video posts. Use the MP3 downloader in the format tools above, paste the same share link, and save the media file TikTok exposes — it includes the audio track; convert locally to MP3 if you need a standalone audio file.
TikTok reels vs regular videos — same link?
Yes. Short-form clips copy as tiktok.com/@user/video/… URLs whether you call them reels or videos. Use the Video downloader and paste whichever share link TikTok provides.
Photo carousels on TikTok?
Use the Slideshow & Photo Downloader with the share link from the photo post itself (tiktok.com/@user/photo/…). A profile URL alone is not enough.
Does this remove the TikTok watermark?
SMDownloader returns the media TikTok exposes for that public URL. We do not add or strip watermarks — if the preview shows a watermark, that is what saves.
