Copy a YouTube Short link on the app.
Use the share sheet in the YouTube iOS or Android app to copy the Short URL.
- 01
Open the YouTube app
Launch YouTube on your iPhone or Android device and navigate to the public Short you want to save.
- 02
Tap Share on the Short
On the Short, tap Share below the video. This opens the system share sheet with a link to copy.
- 03
Choose Copy link
Select Copy link from the share options. On some devices this appears as Copy or Copy URL. The Short link is now on your clipboard — youtu.be short links work too.
- 04
Paste in SMDownloader
Switch to your mobile browser, open smdownloader.com, tap the URL field, paste the link, and tap Download. Preview the result before you save — YouTube support is Beta.
- 05
Alternative: Share to browser first
If Copy link is unavailable, share the Short to your mobile browser (Chrome or Safari), then copy the URL from the address bar once the youtube.com page loads.
YouTube is Beta on SMDownloader
Coverage is narrower than our stable platforms. Some Shorts, live replays, or rights-managed uploads may not return a file. Always preview before you save — live streams and age-gated videos often do not work.
iOS tip
After tapping Share, look for Copy link in the top row. If you only see apps, scroll right and tap More to find the copy action.
Android tip
Tap Share under the Short, then choose Copy link. The copied URL may be a youtu.be short link — paste it as-is on SMDownloader.
