    Open the Threads post in your browser

    Go to threads.com or threads.net in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge and open the public post you want to save. The address bar should show /@username/post/ in the path — not a profile or feed page.

    Copy the address bar URL

    Click the browser address bar, select the full URL, and copy it with Ctrl+C (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+C (Mac). The copied Threads URL should look like https://www.threads.com/@username/post/POST_ID or https://www.threads.net/@username/post/POST_ID.

    Remove extra parameters (optional)

    If the URL contains optional tracking parameters after ? such as ?xmt=..., you can paste it as copied or trim those params. SMDownloader handles both threads.com and threads.net links.
