How to copy a Threads link on mobile — step by step

    Open the public Threads post

    In the Threads app on iPhone or Android, open the public post you want to save. Private or restricted posts will not work in SMDownloader.

    Tap Share on the post

    Tap the share arrow below the post. This opens the share sheet where Copy link appears on most devices.

    Tap Copy link

    Choose Copy link (sometimes labeled Copy or Copy URL). Threads copies a public post URL — often threads.net/@username/post/POST_ID or the same path on threads.com. Paste it as-is.

    Paste on www.smdownloader.com

    Switch to Safari or Chrome, open www.smdownloader.com, paste into the URL field, and tap Download. Preview the video or image, then save it to your device.

When copy fails

On iPhone, scroll the share row and tap More if Copy link is hidden. On Android, try the three-dot menu → Link. If Copy link is still missing, share the post to your browser and copy the address bar URL once the post loads.

Share the post to your mobile browser (Chrome or Safari), wait for the post page to load, then copy the URL from the address bar. The path should include /@username/post/.

Can I copy a link from a private Threads account?

No. The post must be public. If you need to log in to view it, Share → Copy link will not produce a URL SMDownloader can fetch.

What if I use desktop web instead of the app?
