How to copy a Facebook link on mobile

Four steps — Share, Copy link, paste on SMDownloader, save to your device.

How to copy a Facebook link on mobile — step by step

  1. 01

Open the public video or reel

In the Facebook app on iPhone or Android, open a public Page or profile post — not a private group, friends-only upload, or Story.

  2. 02

    Tap Share under the post

Tap Share below the video or reel player. This opens the share sheet where Copy link appears on most public posts.

  3. 03

    Tap Copy link

Choose Copy link. Facebook may copy fb.watch/…, facebook.com/watch/?v=…, or facebook.com/reel/… — paste what you get. Some shares use facebook.com/share/v/…; preview on SMDownloader before you save.

  4. 04

    Paste on www.smdownloader.com

Switch to Safari or Chrome, open www.smdownloader.com, paste into the URL field, and tap Download. Preview the video, then save it to your device.

Example URLs

https://fb.watch/abc123/https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1234567890https://www.facebook.com/reel/1234567890

When copy fails

Private groups and friends-only posts will not copy a working URL. If Share only gives facebook.com/share/v/… and download fails, open the same public video in your mobile browser and copy fb.watch or watch/?v= from the address bar instead.

Common questions

How do I copy facebook link on iPhone or Android?

Open the public video or reel in the Facebook app, tap Share → Copy link, paste the fb.watch, facebook.com/watch, or facebook.com/reel URL on www.smdownloader.com, and tap Download to preview and save.

Do fb.watch and facebook.com/watch URLs work from the app?

Yes — these are reliable shapes for public Watch videos. Share → Copy link usually copies fb.watch or facebook.com/watch/?v= when the post is public. Paste the full URL without trimming characters.

Can I copy a facebook reel link on mobile?

Yes, when the reel is public. Share → Copy link often copies facebook.com/reel/…. Paste it on www.smdownloader.com and tap Download. For reel-only tips, see the Facebook reel copy-link guide.

Does facebook.com/share/v/ always work?

Not always. Some devices copy facebook.com/share/v/… from Share. Paste and preview first — if download fails, open the same public video in a mobile browser and copy fb.watch or facebook.com/watch/?v= from the address bar.

Can I copy a Facebook Story link on mobile?

No. This guide covers feed videos, Watch uploads, and reels — not Stories. Stories expire and are not supported the same way in SMDownloader.

Can I save video from a private group or friends-only post?

No. The post must be public. If you need to log in to view it, or the video is group-only or friends-only, Share → Copy link will not produce a URL SMDownloader can fetch.

What if Share does not show Copy link?

Try sharing the post to Safari or Chrome, wait for the video page to load, then copy the URL from the address bar. The link should include fb.watch, watch/?v=, or /reel/.
