Save full-resolution Reddit photographs and gallery albums

Reddit posts frequently showcase digital photography, graphic art, charts, and sequential photo albums hosted on i.redd.it and preview.redd.it. Rather than saving downscaled web previews with browser right-click limitations, SMDownloader identifies each item in the gallery dataset and presents direct links to uncompressed full-resolution originals.

How to download photos and galleries from Reddit

  1. 01

    Copy the post link

Open the Reddit photo submission or gallery album and copy the link from the address bar or Share button.

  2. 02

    Submit link to SMDownloader

Paste the URL into our search field. Our parser resolves all image assets associated with the submission.

  3. 03

    Save original images

Browse the extracted images in the preview list and click Download Image to save each picture to your device.

Warum SMDownloader nutzen

  • Source resolution preservation. Pulls original uncompressed image files directly from i.redd.it without secondary scaling or JPEG quality degradation.
  • Multi-image gallery unpacking. Decodes complete Reddit gallery carousels so you can inspect and download every individual slide.
  • Automated URL unescaping. Properly decodes Reddit's internal XML entity encodings (&) to ensure clean, valid image asset URLs.
  • Device & browser agnostic. Functions reliably across mobile smartphones, tablets, and desktop workstations without installing plugins.

Häufige Fragen

Yes. When you paste a Reddit gallery link, SMDownloader extracts every slide in the album, displaying each picture with its resolution and direct download link.

Are the downloaded photos full resolution?

Yes. We retrieve the original source image hosted on i.redd.it rather than low-resolution previews or thumbnails.

Does this work with direct i.redd.it image links?

What image file formats are supported?

Reddit primarily hosts JPEG and PNG imagery on i.redd.it, as well as animated GIFs. All are preserved in their native container format.
